The
F100 Truck Wrecker...
Rex Stapleton created F100 Truck Wreckers almost 20 years ago with a view
to having a business with a total focus on Ford F-series motor vehicles.
Today, this specialist Ford truck wrecker has assembled one of the largest
collections of high quality Ford F series parts in the country. In fact, Rex
can safely say that during the past 20 years he's had his hands on every F100
truck part ever made!
In the beginning...
Upon leaving school, Rex started his working life as a butcher's
apprentice. However, by age 21 Rex had had his fill of carving meat and longed
for
more adventure than the local bucher shop could provide.
After leaving his butchering profession, his next move was into the world of
trucks with the purchase of a flatbed truck which he used to deliver bricks to
building sites throught the Sydney area. Success in this trucking business
allowed a rapid expansion and more trucks were added to Rex's fleet.
One day while delivering bricks to a building site, he pestered the
operator of an excavator into letting him try his hand at the controls.
Finding this much more exciting then driving a truck, Rex than ventured into
the field of earthmoving with the purchase of a bobcat. Having a good head for
business, his earthmoving operation also saw rapid expansion over the next few
years.
Finally, in 1975 he stumbled upon the business of Campbelltown Spares
which was up for sale. From that point on, Rex moved into the spare parts and
wrecking business putting a strong focus on light trucks and eventually
concentrating totally on Ford F series trucks.
Today, the business referred to nation-wide, generally as "that F100 truck wrecker in Sydney"
(which was how I heard about him!) has outgrown its humble beginnings with
parts, wrecks and almost-complete trucks stored in several leased locations in
the Campbelltown area.
However the primary business is still at Lot 22, Rose & Blaxland roads and
that is where you will find Rex Stapleton most days of the week, working away
on his beloved F100 trucks and their associated 'bits n pieces'.
PS: Being '50-something' years young, Rex is also looking towards
retirement in the not-too-distant future, so if trucks are your 'thing' make
sure you check out the
F100 Truck Wrecking Business For Sale section of the website.
